European capitals, April 11 (QNA): Greek Olympiacos defeated its Turkish guest, Fenerbahce, by three goals to two, today, Thursday, in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the European Football Conference League.

Olympiacos’ goals were scored by Konstantinos Fortounis, Stefan Jovetic and Ciquinho in the 8th, 32nd and 57th minutes, while the Fenerbahce goals were scored by Dusan Tadic from a penalty kick, and Irfan Can Kahwagi in the 68th and 74th minutes.

The two teams will meet in Turkey next Thursday in the return match, and the winner of this confrontation is scheduled to meet the winner of the match between Aston Villa, England, and Lille, France, in the semi-finals.

In another match in the same tournament today, the Czech Republic’s Viktoria Plzeƈ tied 0-0 with its Italian counterpart, Fiorentina.

The two teams failed to take advantage of all the opportunities available to them in front of the two goals, so that the second leg next week will be the decisive one to qualify for the semi-finals, where the winner of this confrontation will meet the winner of the match between Club Brugge of Belgium and PAOK Salonika of Greece.
