The Egyptian national team coach summons Mohamed Salah among the professionals and expresses a state of concern

Hossam Hassan, the Egyptian national team coach, said that he will summon all the professionals from the national team to play the matches between Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau in the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals, led by Liverpool English striker Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian national team is preparing to face Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau on the 7th and 10th of next June in the third and fourth rounds of the qualifiers.

The first group includes Egypt, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, Djibouti, and Sierra Leone. The Egyptian team currently leads the group with 6 points, after winning the first two rounds over Djibouti and Sierra Leone.

Hassan revealed the difficulty of including Omar Marmoush, the Eintracht Frankfurt player, confirming that he underwent urgent surgery on his hand at the end of the team’s matches in the German First Division.

Hassan added in statements to reporters on Monday, “I will include Mohamed El-Shenawy, Al-Ahly’s goalkeeper, because of his great experience, accompanied by Mustafa Schubert, who is performing at strong levels.”

Hassan expressed a state of concern, due to the short preparation period before facing Burkina Faso.

Hassan said, “The team’s results in the last period were unsatisfactory,” explaining that Egypt’s exit from the last African Nations Championship without achieving a single victory is not worthy of Egypt’s name.
