Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League with their victory – Tuesday – over Spanish Real Sociedad and Italian Lazio, respectively, in the second leg of the competition’s eighth-final.
At the Anoeta Stadium in San Sebastian, international striker Kylian Mbappé led his team, Paris Saint-Germain, to the quarter-finals for the first time since 2021 when he scored a double in their victory over Spanish host Real Sociedad 2-1.
Mbappe scored his two goals in the 15th and 56th minutes, raising his score to 6 goals, ranked second on the scorers list this season, and to 46 goals in the continental competition, while Michael Merino scored the only goal for Sociedad (89).

Saint-Germain broke its knot in the last eight in the last two editions and reached the quarter-finals for the seventh time in the history of its participation in the competition in which it is chasing the title, and its best result remains runner-up in 2020 when it lost to Bayern Munich of Germany.

Bayern Munich emerges from the dark tunnel with its victory over Lazio
Bayern Munich emerged from a dark tunnel by defeating its Italian guest, Lazio, with a score of 3-0, today, Tuesday.
The Bavarian team took the lead with two goals in the first half, scored by Harry Kane and Thomas Muller in the 38th and 47th minutes, and Harry Kane strengthened his team’s advantage with a third goal in the 66th minute.

The German giant also maintained its chances of winning the European title, which it had previously achieved 6 times, most recently in 2020, seeking to avoid leaving the season empty-handed for the first time since 2012.
