Among the innocent questions children usually ask their fathers and mothers, Dr. Ali Gomaa, former Mufti of the Republic, member of the Council of Senior Scholars, and Chairman of the Religious Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, received a question from a child about the reason why only Muslims enter Paradise, even though there are other religions and they have messengers. From heaven, like the Christianity with which Jesus, peace be upon him, was sent.

In his response, during his program “Nour El-Din” on “Channel One,” today, Monday, Jumaa answered the girl’s question, saying: “Who told you that only Muslims will enter Paradise?” This is wrong information!”

His Eminence the former Mufti cited the words of God Almighty in the noble verse: “Indeed, those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Sabians, and the Christians – whoever believes in God and the Last Day, and does righteousness, upon them shall be no fear. They will grieve.

Jumah added that the religion with God is Islam, and all religions are called Islam. “The verse is very clear. The religion with God is Islam. Its whole name is Islam with us.”

What do angels look like?

One of the existential questions asked by children was answered by Dr. Taher Zaid, Director of the Dialogue Unit at the Egyptian Fatwa House, saying, during a telephone interview, on the “Al-Bayt” program on the “Al-Nas” channel, that: “Belief in angels is one of the pillars of faith. Angels were created from Light, which is the manifestation of God’s light. Whenever a servant obeys God Almighty, he becomes closer to the angels.”

The director of the Dialogue Unit at Dar Al-Iftaa continued: “Angels are sometimes formed in a specific shape by order of God Almighty, as our master Gabriel, peace be upon him, used to come in the form of the sons of Adam, and some antiquities and hadiths say that angels have wings.”
